Custom Request Orders - If my quote works for you, I like to touch base by phone prior to getting started. It helps me to zero in on the personality of the piece and to ask questions. The necessity of a deposit depends on the complexity of the order.

Handcrafted Animals Made in the "Old-Way" from 1 chunk of wood take longer. I need to locate the right chunk of naturally aged wood - which must fit the size criteria but more importantly, the character of the intended animal. These are truly One-of-A-Kind carvings.

Q: The carving I want is out of stock. Will I receive what I see in the photos?
A: Yes, you will receive what you see in the photos. As with all hand-crafted works, there will be slight differences like a brush stroke on a feather. Over the years I have created replicas from antique carvings and learned to mark the original when returning to the customer.
Q: I don't see the animal I want. Will it cost more to have one made?
A: No. Prices typically are in the same ballpark as a similar piece shown on the website.

Q: Can I put my carving outdoors?
A: It depends. Generally, I create with the assumption of interior or covered porch use. If you want outdoor use please let me know.

Q: How do I clean my carving?
A: For smooth surfaces, I recommend a barely damp cloth or a small bit of furniture oil on a cloth is excellent also. For rough wood, I use a paint brush or vacuum with brush attachment.
