This RUSTIC BUTTERCUP ROOSTER is styled after one of ours on the farm.  He loves crowing in the field, on the fences, on the shed roofs, and rocks.  Like many of my rustic pieces, I hand carve everything except the body which is made of very rough narrow strips of wood.  I like the way the wood texture accentuates the painting details.  As his feet I used a metal angle harkening to the old-timey farm windmills.
